The Global Pandemic

For the past few months, word has been going around about the Corona Virus AKA COVID-19. Since the disease emerged in Wuhan, China and began its rapid spread around the country, then subsequently around the world, people have been spreading all sorts of news to go along with it - both real and fake...

The real news, that this disease is not really airborne (although it does travel a few feet through the air when propelled - as in a sneeze or a cough); that the virus can linger on surfaces for up to a few days (depending on the surface); that wearing gloves and/or an N95 mask will protect you if you have to deal with infected people; and most importantly that washing your hands with soap and water or sterilizing them with an alcohol based sanitizer regularly will keep you as safe as can be, has had to be amplified.

So, instead of trying to keep you updated on the latest COVID-19 News, or looking for an innovative way to make this situation into an interesting anecdote, I think I'm just going to level with you.

Look, these are frightening interesting unusual times. We have a global pandemic that's ravaging the world, causing international lockdowns, travel bans, and deaths in the thousands. The cure is yet to be found, and there is no certainty as to if (or hopefully when) the situation might change for the better.

All we can do is social distance, wash our hands, and self-quarantine as much as possible, to keep ourselves safe. While we're doing that obviously, we get to spend more time with our families, work from home, and potentially catch up on some of those activities that we previously had no time for.

This means that, if you haven't already, you can finally read or re-read my books! The Duet, An Anthology of Poems & A Season for All Things. Plus, if you're so inclined, you can leave me a review on Goodreads for either one or the other or both!

Your review will go a long way to letting me know what my readers feel about my poetry, and also just as importantly, provide social proof for my work so that other readers like yourself may take an interest in my books. Right now I've got almost no reviews, and if even just a few of you would give me some feedback, that would be great!
