Ecovative

Ecovative

Another example of life in its most basic forms, is this month's tech focus. Now when we think "basic", most people like to look to the past. Basic is where we're coming from; Advanced is where we're going.

Basic is where we're coming from; Advanced is where we're going.

But a company called Ecovative, is here to tell us different. Through a revolutionary new process, the folks at Ecovative are creating natural, renewable, and biodegradable packaging from one of the most basic of life forms... Fungi

To be more specific, fungal mycelium: which grows naturally by decomposing agricultural waste. As a result, the manufacturing process actively involves pollution control, in the creation of what they call, Mushroom materials.

Materials that in themselves are fully biodegradable, and may be discarded easily at no cost to the environment unlike today's plastics.

So don't look down on basic, because basic is where it's at. 😉
