Kaiji

The most recent anime to make it into my list of all time favourites, is called Gyakkyo Burai Kaiji. I fell in love with the first season about 2 or 3 years ago when I first watched it thinking it was fantastic but sadly a one time hit. Yet the second season, is currently blowing my mind!

Gyakkyo Burai Kaiji or Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji is an anime about the art of gambling. It follows the trials and tribulations of a low-life called Kaiji as he struggles to escape from the clutches of debt and debt collectors by participating in high-risk, high-stakes gambling.

But as you will find, a plot description does not do enough justice to the enthralling story that Kaiji delivers. Every single episode is packed full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Gambles of life and death, ingenious insights, and unexpected comebacks. Kaiji is an action-packed nail-biting thriller and it ranks right up there with the best of them.
