Kamisama ni Natta Hi

My anime recommendation for the month is a brief but touching story  (12 episodes) about a boy's (Youta Narukami) last summer before University. During this summer Youta meets an eccentric girl (Hina Satou) who claims to be an omniscient God, and who somehow "knows" that the World is going to end in 30 days.

In addition to befriending Youta, Hina moves in with the Narukami family, and spends these "last" 30 days with them. So basically, the anime chronicles the fun-filled "last" summer of Hina, and Youta, and his friends and family, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans.

Up until the last few episodes, this anime watches like a light-hearted caper about enjoying a summer break. But the plot receives all its depth at the very end when all the mysteries unravel. So if you're looking for something light, yet meaningful, Kamisama ni Natta Hi aka The Day I Became a God should be right up your alley.
