Ore wa Subete wo “Parry” suru

The Anime "Ore wa Subete wo 'Parry' suru" was one of the pleasant surprises of this season (last season?) for me. I began watching it without much hope, simply expecting another off-the-wall isekai adventurer's story. But what I found, turned out to be something more.

The plot of "Ore wa Subete wo 'Parry' suru" or "I will 'Parry' all" in English follows the adult life of adventurer wannabe Noor, who has wanted to be an adventurer since childhood but despite going to all the adventurer guilds in the city, has been unable to learn any useful skill - or so he thinks. All that he was able to learn was the single skill "Parry" which allows him to deflect attacks.

Thoroughly disappointed by his poor luck, and unable to register with any guild, Noor retreats into the mountains where he practices the one skill he has until he can do the most with it. Then, having mastered the "Parry" Skill, Noor descends from the mountain still harbouring the wish to be an adventurer in his heart, but hoping that at least even if he can't become one, he can be helpful to the city's citizens.

However, on his way, he runs into an attack in progress and is able to repel the assailants using his single parry skill. Does this mean the "Parry" skill might actually be worth something? Will he finally be able to become the adventurer he wishes to be? Discover the answers to these questions when you watch Ore was Subete wo Parry Suru.
