After five years of harboring unspoken feelings, high-schooler Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. But just when Taiju begins his confession, a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies mankind around the world—turning every single human into stone.
Several millennia later, Taiju is set free to discover that his best friend Senkuu (a scientific genius, and the only other surviving human as far as he knows), had also been set free months earlier.
Now Senkuu and Taiju must join forces to un-petrify the rest of the human race.

This Anime is actually more than just entertainment. If you pay attention, you will find that a number of real-world scientific experiments are carried out throughout the series to build the tools that Senkuu & Taiju need to accelerate the revival of the human race. Although many of these experiments cannot be safely carried out at home, it is interesting to note how things are created and made throughout the series.
