Happy New Year (2026)
Happy New Year, Friends & Family! I hope your year has gotten off to a good start. I'm happy to say that mine has. In fact, just before I sat down to write this blog post, I was writing my first journal entry of the year and marvelling at how God works.
So, the gist of it is that towards the end of last year, my momentum started slowing down. I was sleeping in a bit later than usual, and it was starting to affect my office time. I noticed it, but I felt that since we often stay late at the office and I can make up the work on my off days, it wasn't affecting anybody.
Until my mom called my attention to it... and then my dad... so... going into this new year, my aim was to get back on track. I stopped taking a nap after my meds and used that time to get ready for work. It's what I've done throughout January, and it has worked. I'm getting to work earlier and spending more of my office days in the office.
So why was I marvelling at how God works? I was marvelling because my weekly journal always begins with a devotional, and today's reading was from Proverbs. Proverbs 6. If you're not familiar, it's the one that contains the verses:
How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
Omo! When God wants to send you a message, he knows how to do it. I couldn't just laugh. I mean, just in case I decided not to listen to my parents, God backed up their message with His word.
If that's not motivation to get up and doing, I don't know what is!
