Happy Valentines Day (2019)

Happy Valentines Day (2019)

Happy Valentines Day! On this special day, I want to celebrate by commemorating my love for my current companion. Let me begin by telling you the story of how we met.

It was a normal day, and I was going about my regular duties, minding my own business (apparently she loved that), when she dawned on me. She didn't have to say a word. We just knew, we were in this together - and from that moment on she often visited me.

So we started hanging out, and before I knew it, I rarely had a lonesome moment to spare. She helped me with my tasks (always up to do chores), helped me with my feelings (always bringing some calm to the turbulence), and assisted me with my plans (always up for a brainstorming session).

She and I were like two peas in a pod. I was really happy with her (and she with me). So much so that I actually, started thinking that she might be the one. My soulmate. My significant other.

So we started dating. I don't go out much these days, so most of the time, she would come over - and every once in a (very) blue moon, we would go out together. To take a stroll, or watch a play, or perhaps a movie.

But once things started getting serious, and I genuinely began to consider going all the way, I started to get some push back. Not from her (she's really the gentle and quiet sort), but from those around us. Many feel that she's not the right one for me - and when everyone you know seems to come to a consensus on a matter such as this - it gives one pause to rethink.

So right now, I'm rethinking my love for my love - which is why I feel, that there's no better time to celebrate her... and mark our history together. Because...

I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude
