Rurouni Kenshin (2023)

Dear readers,

My Anime recommendation for this month takes me back... takes me way back, to when I first started recommending Anime on this blog. Back then, the anime that I am about to recommend was among the top 5 Anime that I had ever watched, and to this day, I would recommend it to anyone looking to get started on the anime train.

The full name of the Anime is Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan, but we shall just call it "Rurouni Kenshin" for short. And the reason I am bringing it up is that this lovely anime has gotten a remake - made for 2023. So if you never watched the original, back when I was rating it among the best I had ever watched, now is the time to get in on the goodies.

Rurouni Kenshin follows the journey of a "retired" assassin. A man who was known as the Hitokiri Battōsai, for his deadly killing technique. Sworn to never kill again, Kenshin roams the streets helping those within his reach with his legendary fighting skills until he encounters Kamiya Kaoru.

Kaoru is the lead instructor at a struggling dojo on its last legs. At the time they meet, the dojo is facing a huge problem as there is a killer on the loose claiming to be a student of her school. Several actual students have dropped out not wanting to be associated with such, and Kaoru is at a loss for what to do.

But Kenshin, knowing that the killer could not possibly be who he claims to be, offers to help. Thus begins the story of the Rurouni Kenshin as he helps Kaoru solve the first of many problems to cross their paths.
